Fearplay founders Kjeld and Lunaria developed Hope’s End during the Gamepathy Game Jam 2026, bringing the horror prototype to life in RPG Maker MZ.
As a small side project, we’re currently giving the prototype some final polish in preparation for the Gamepathy Gamescom Showcase, where Hope’s End will be playable at Gamescom. Can’t wait until then? You can already experience the current version on our itch.io page.
The upcoming Gamescom Update will take things a step further – featuring improved character portrait artwork, additional polish, and the finalized prototype narrative, with particular attention given to rounding out the story’s ending.
Keep in mind: Hope’s End is still a prototype. It offers only a glimpse into the concept, world, and lore we envision for a potential full release – without revealing the complete story we have in mind.
And there’s more lurking in the dark: preparations for our first larger Unreal Engine 5 project are already underway.
Stay tuned. Fearplay is only getting started.
